Suffering Many Things? Mark 5:25-29

A woman who had suffered a condition of hemorrhaging for twelve years– a long succession of physicians had treated her, and treated her badly, taking all her money and leaving her worse off than before– had heard about Jesus. She slipped in from behind and touched his robe. She was thinking to herself, “If I can put a finger on his robe, I can get well.” The moment she did it, the flow of blood dried up. She could feel the change and knew her plague was over and done with.
(Mark 5:25-29 MSG)

Lots of people are like the woman in the short story recorded in Matthew chapter 5 verse 25 and 26. We’ve waited on people all our life to give us their opinion on our situation. Mr Jones, what do you think is wrong with me? , Mrs Bridge, why can’t I make it in business? Professor Jay, how come I am always bottom of the class? And of course, well-meaning as they may be, they’ve given you many prescriptions and you have indeed ‘suffered many things’.
Why not try one more opinion today. An opinion that speaks to the very source of your problems and not just the symptoms. Why not reach out for Jesus’ opinion and let him speak the word of healing over your body and your circumstances? That woman knew her situation had gotten as bad as it could go. After trying so many solutions, she probably didn’t have any self-esteem left and would try anything or anyone. She was in for a pleasant surprise though, when she came to Jesus. She touched the hem of his garment and ‘the blood stopped flowing immediately’. She was healed! Jesus had not even talked. He didn’t even know who touched him yet, but she was healed. Halleluyah! No suffering, No prescriptions that ‘made it worse’. She didn’t suffer anything from Jesus. She was instantly healed.
This could be your story today…Will you reach out and touch Jesus?
