Going on a Spiritiual Dieting Plan

We all know about eating a balanced diet. Some of us are proud we are doing well, eating the right thing in the right proportion. Others of us feel guilty each time we hear about balancing our diet, while some just ignore it all. No matter our reaction, we can’t honestly say that it’s not important. Most of us desire to improve our diet basically because we know there could be serious health implications down the line if we don’t begin to eat the right things. The sad thing is not everybody follows through to actually change things. Sometimes we go on fad diets to get some extra-ordinary quick results but then revert back to status quo.

Our spiritual diet is no different from this. As Christians, we should ensure that we are getting the right stuff into our spirit constantly. If we don’t, we run a risk of running aground.

Check what’s on your spiritual plate

1. Is it organic or cloned? Are you getting authentic food or is it just plastic? The only way to make sure is to weigh it against the standard of the bible. The book of Acts mentions the Berean christians and commends them as being “… more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so” (Acts 17:11 NKJV). They tested the food before swallowing it to ensure that it was real.

2. Is it balanced? In the book of Hebrews chapter 5 and verse 13, Paul makes this statement: “For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe”. This statement, I believe points to the fact that there are different components of a balanced spiritual diet. Not only milk but some meat as well.

3. Is it appropriate? Paul was speaking to the Hebrew believers when he said, “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food”. Paul is saying here that the people’s diet needed to be appropriate for their age or should I say, stage. In Hebrews 5:14, the apostle Paul went on to say, “…solid food belongs to those who are of full age”.

Spiritual Food List

  1. Milk – These are the basic principles of the christian faith and christian life (Hebrews 5:12).the King James version uses the term “first principles”. A first principle is a basic, foundational proposition or assumption that cannot be deduced from any other proposition or assumption (from Wikipedia). I believe this includes principles such as being born again by faith, assurance of salvation, redemption, justification, sanctification, the adoption of sons, translation into the kingdom of God, power over sin, the atoning work of the blood of Jesus, the hope of eternal life and so on. They are the principles that help you personally understand who you are in Christ and live a victorious christian life. The “sincere milk of the word” is essential for spiritual growth.
  2. Solid Food – Strong meat, as the King James version calls it, are the “derived principles”. They the kind of food needed to “stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11-19). These are the muscle-building food that help you to fight a good fight of faith. They are the kind of food you need to eat when you realise that you were not just saved to go to heaven but to fulfil God’s purpose for your life here on earth and take as many people as you can to heaven with you. The call of the bible is that we should “go on … and become mature” Hebrews 6:1 NLT. It’s a call to change our diet. To improve it and match it with the current requirements as our spirit demands. The Christian life is full of “spiritual adventure”. There are territories to conquer but you can’t do it on milk. There are treasures in darkness that need to be dug out, but not on milk power.  We need therefore to exercise our senses (Hebrews 5:14 KJV), so that we can partake of the solid food God has for us.

The Spiritual Diet of a person seeking Solid food includes

All these “food stuffs” must be part of our daily meals in generous portions. Taking them into our spirit everyday will ensure that our spirit is in a constant state of readiness and alertness to the Spirit of God and He will be able to communicate with us the mysteries (solid food) of the Kingdom. We will look deeper into these items later but for now….

Friends let us go and become mature… grace is made available.

“Est bene!”

God Loves You

God loves You

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

Love is the greatest desire of the human race. We all have a need to be loved; a need to be valued by someone else. Today, millions of people all around the world will be suffering from loneliness, depression and low self-esteem. Many of them will try to find help by using drugs, alcohol or sex. Some will attempt suicide and unfortunately some will succeed.

As you read this, you might see yourself or someone you know. The good news is there is a Goodnews! the Goodnews is that God is love and God loves you. God loves every single human being and that includes you, your family, your friends, strangers on the street or next door!!

God is Love and God loves you!

God loves them all and it a strong passionate love that led Him to go all the way to ensure that you (and every person) can have a direct connection to him at anytime. This means no more loneliness – God is your friend and is always with you. No more depression – God has come to save you. No more low self-esteem – You are worth a whole lot to God.

This means no more loneliness – God is your friend and is always with you.

This is the Goodnews – the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. He came into the world to pay the price for your sins so that you through faith in Him (Jesus Christ) could meet God’s righteous criteria. Only death could pay for our sins and only a righteous man’s blood would be good enough. Jesus met all these criteria and now through his death on the cross and the shedding of his righteous, sinless blood, we can have peace with God.

Will you take this Goodnews to heart today so that it can transform your life? Will accept Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for you? Remember God Loves you. Will you accept His Love today?

If you are saying yes, I want to accept God’s love through Jesus today, then read this page and get in touch with me. If you will like to know more, please send me a message
