Don’t Forget to Recharge.

“…that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord”. [Acts 3:19 Amplified]

“The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the [whole] person; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure and bright, enlightening the eyes”. [Psalm 19:7-8 Amplified]

“Then Samson called to the Lord and said, O Lord God, [earnestly] remember me, I pray You, and strengthen me, I pray You…” [Judges 16:28 Amplified]

The Other day, I got all ready to go out for the day and as I stepped out of the house, locked the doors and started on my way, I reached for my mobile phone, quite impulsively, to check the time, but I also saw that the phone charge was at its lowest point. Aggrrrh! I should have plugged it in overnight but I didn’t. I hadn’t even realised that the charge was so low. I had been using the phone without paying attention to how much power was actually left in it to ensure it continued to function.
As humans and especially as christians, we can find ourselves in a ‘burnt-out’ status at some point in our life. The bible narrates the story of Samson-a strong man. A man given exceptional strength by God to do great things. On one occasion however, the bible records:”And he awoke out of his sleep and said, I will go out as I have time after time and shake myself free. For Samson did not know that the Lord had departed from him”[Judges 16:20 Amplified emphasis mine]. Samson thought he would go out on business as usual! Unfortunately, his usual strength was gone and he didn’t know it. As it turned out, business was anything but usual that day.
God doesn’t want us to live our life in cycles of ‘fully charged’ and ‘completely dead’. He wants us to be perpetually charged. Constantly refueling, refreshing and recharging. God want us to connect with Him through His word and through prayer and fellowship so that His Spirit can recharged ours. Don’t forget to recharge today and everyday! Halleluyah.
